When you arrive home at La Belle Cabane, you’re not just checking into an off grid cabin or a forest spa you’re stepping into a Healing Sanctuary designed for deep rest, reflection and meaningful reconnection with nature. While our guests come for many reasons: to experience a private thermal spa experience, to lay on a heated stone bed while gazing at the forest canopy above, to rest in our halotherapy salt room or retreat to an off-grid cabin tucked peacefully in nature; we always encourage a little exploring.

1) Hidden Gem Hike
Moss Glen Nature Trail & Waterfall
If you’re craving a dose of nature beyond your spa pod, the Moss Glen Nature Trail and Moss Glen Waterfall each offer their own charm, just a short drive from your home at La Belle Cabane. The 2.2 km Moss Glen Nature Trail is a peaceful walk that winds through the forest – perfect for a mid-morning hike. The Moss Glen Waterfall makes for a stunning area for quiet reflection and a great picnic
- The Moss Glen Nature Trail is moderately difficult and family-friendly, great for birdwatching and forest bathing. The trail head is easy to find on Williams Road right off Route 845.
- The Moss Glen Waterfall is located on Moss Glen Shore Road, where a small parking area makes access easy. Simply roll down your window and follow the sound of rushing water. Several short trails of varying difficulty lead to stunning viewpoints of the falls.
Pack a thermos, wear good shoes, and let the sound of peaceful trees and falling water add to the calm of your Kingston escape.
2) Kingston Corner
Local Landmark: “Kingston Corner”
Just minutes from La Belle Cabane, you’ll find Kingston Corner – the heart of The Kingston Peninsula’s daily life and a charming slice of small-town convenience. It’s where locals fuel up, pick-up their morning coffee, grab a slice, and catch up on the latest.
- Kingston Gas Bar Irving and Kingston General Merchants (878 Route 845) is your go-to for gas, snacks, and friendly service. Fondly referred to by locals as “The Kingston Walmart”, this classic general store carries groceries, fresh baked goods, household staples, local wines from Dunhams Run, ciders from YIP Cider and Kingston Creek Cider, and houses The Pizza Shack. If you’re visiting on a Wednesday, don’t forget to grab your SPCA Radio Bingo cards – we’ve won over $350 before!
- Just across the way you’ll find The Kingston Elementary Schooland The Trinity Anglican Church, making this humble corner a true hub of community.
- And don’t miss The Kingston Peninsula Heritage gems at this corner, they work hard to preserve and promote The 1810 Carter House Tea Room, a beautifully restored heritage home offering light lunches and afternoon tea in the warmer months; and The John Fisher Memorial Museum that showcases life on The Kingston Peninsula, from Wolastoqiyik basketry to early settler tolls, clothing and other local artifacts.
